RankMe RankMe

How RankMe works

The whole site, without the boring manual. Rank what you love. Show it. That’s the pitch.

Start

Three doors. Pick one.

You don’t need an account to play. Login is for saving, publishing, and looking cool in Community.

Home

Find a list. Don’t get lost.

The home page is a shelf. Tags on top filter the vibe. Search looks through titles and character names - type Chun and Street Fighter shows up.

The little hamburger in the search bar is sort: Popular or New. Open is the ranking. Battle Mode is the fight.

Street Fighter 6 League of Legends Skullgirls World of Warcraft Expansions Dota 2 MARVEL Tokon Street Fighter Duel Street Fighter Duel EX

Tap a cover - you’ll get the mode picker. That’s Open. Same as the button on the card.

How you rank

Classic, One by One, or Battle.

Templates always ask first. A shared link never does - it opens the list you were sent, on Classic, already filled in.

Classic Board

Every card on screen. Drag them onto rows. Full control. Best when you already know the roster and want to nitpick.

One by One

One card. Portals under it - same capsules as Classic, always on. Tap a portal, the card leaves, the next one grows in. Made for phones. Scroll down anytime and drag on the board if you change your mind.

When the last card is placed: TIER LIST COMPLETE.

Classic Board

All cards at once. Full control.

One by One

One card at a time. Great for mobile.

Battle Mode

No dragging. Two fighters, you pick who wins. RankMe turns those picks into an order. Progress saves, so you can close the tab and continue later.

Quick

A fast draft. Enough comparisons to see the shape, not a thesis.

Full Ranking

More fights, tighter order. For when you actually care.

Uber move

Portals. Classic too - not just One by One.

Each portal is a row, in color. Drop a card on it and it teleports. No dragging across the whole board.

On Classic they start off. Hit TELEPORTATION in the pool header - the bar lights up under the filters. Same button turns them off. Add or recolor a row and the portals follow.

On One by One the bar is the whole game: one card, tap the portal, next card.

Try it on the tiny board below. Tap TELEPORTATION, pick a card, tap a capsule.

Blank canvas

Your pictures. Your rules.

Start Ranking skips the mode picker and drops you on Classic. Title, optional cover, a tag, dump the images. Files stay on this device until you Save or publish - we’re not quietly uploading your folder.

  • Title max 48 characters. Keep it punchy.
  • Cover likes 1200×630. Same shape as the cards on home.
  • Wrong pic? There’s a delete on each thumbnail before you hit Start.
The fun part

Rows, pool, filters.

Cards live in the pool until you place them. Drag onto a row. Drag between rows. On a phone, same thing - just don’t fight the scroll: grab the card, not the empty track.

Click a row’s cube to rename it or change the color. Add row if S-D isn’t your religion. Clear all sends everyone back to the pool. Size slider is under the board - bigger cards, fewer on a line.

Some templates have filters (Bronze / Gold, roles, factions). They hide cards you’re not ranking right now. They don’t delete anything.

Drag a card onto a row. TELEPORTATION turns portals on - drop a card on a capsule to send it.

Community

How to publish. Step by step.

Save is not publish. Save keeps the list in your account, private. Publish puts it on Community and on your public profile.

  1. Login - Discord, Google, or X. Account in the header.
  2. Rank - finish the board the way you want it.
  3. Save - toolbar. It lands in Account as Unpublished.
  4. Open Account - find the card.
  5. Three dots on that card → flip Publish to Community.

The card says Published. It shows up under Community → New. Hearts and views start counting. Flip the switch off and it leaves the feed - still saved for you.

Share is a different door: a link for Discord / X / Telegram. A shared link does not put you on Community. Only that switch does.

Show it

Save, share, download.

  • Save - account required. Private until you publish.
  • Share - Discord, Telegram, X, or a raw link. Opens Classic with your ranking on it. Does not publish.
  • Download PNG - a picture of the board, cropped to the content, RankMe footer. For posts.
  • Remix - a public list becomes yours to rearrange. You don’t overwrite theirs.

If a share preview has no image, wait a beat and try again - crawlers cache the first look.

You

Login, name, RankMe link.

Discord, Google, or X. We take the avatar from there. Display name you can edit anytime.

Under the name sits your RankMe link - something like rankme.lol/u/you. That’s public. You can change the handle once every 30 days. Copy sits next to it, not a pencil.

Inactive expert badge Active expert badge

The gray badge is only on your account. Tap it to apply. Approved experts get the live one next to their name everywhere people can see it - and a seat in the Experts community filter.

Apply with a link to your creator page. YouTube, Twitch, whatever you actually post on - it just has to be a real URL. We read applications. Takes a few days. You can cancel and send again.

Other people

Hot, New, Experts.

Public lists show up under Community on the home page. Hot is what’s getting love. New is fresh. Experts is the approved crowd - their new lists land there automatically.

Hearts and views are real. We don’t invent numbers. If a card has no count, it simply hasn’t been counted yet.

Trophies

Poke around. Get surprises.

Rank, save, battle, publish. RankMe hides perks and rewards for people who actually use the site. You will know when one lands.

The rest

Quick answers.

How do I publish?

Login → Save the board → Account → three dots on the card → Publish to Community. Share is just a link. It does not publish.

Do I need an account?

No. Rank and download freely. Save, publish, likes, and achievements need login.

Where do my uploads go?

Local builder: your browser only. Save or publish: stored so the list can load on another phone. Public means anyone with the link can see the pictures. Don’t publish what you don’t own.

Why did a shared link skip Choose Mode?

Because it’s already a ranking. Open from home still asks Classic vs One by One. A link with a save code should never dump you on an empty picker.

Can I change my handle again?

Every 30 days. If you tap it during the wait, you’ll see when it unlocks. Taken names get stopped before the confirm modal.

What is Remix?

A copy of a public board, in your hands. Rearrange, download, save as yours. The original stays put.

Something looks wrong after an update

Hard refresh. We version the CSS and JS; old cache loves to keep a ghost of yesterday.
